The Moira Canal Festival is a family event to be held every year on the restored section of the Ashby Canal, at the historic Moira Furnace Museum. It aims to raise awareness of, and money for, the restoration, extension and maintenance of the Ashby Canal.

The Ashby Canal is being restored from its current terminus at Snarestone to Moira, Leicestershire. This major project will ultimately reconnect Measham, Oakthorpe, Donisthorpe and Moira to the national waterways network, and provide a green gateway to the Heart of the National Forest.

THEY'RE BACK...

We’re thrilled to announce that the D-Day Darlings are returning as the main act for the Moira Canal Festival 2025, here to help us celebrate the 80th anniversary of VE Day! Back by popular demand after their fantastic performance at our 2022 festival, the D-Day Darlings will once again bring their captivating wartime harmonies and patriotic spirit to the heart of our event.
